Real Japan Guide is operated by Yukihiro Hirano, writing as Basabasa, based in Tokyo, Japan.
How we build our guides
- Official-source research: Practical guides draw on information from transport operators, venues, organizers and other primary sources. Links let you check the relevant rules and booking steps.
- Personal experience: When an article includes the author’s own restaurant visit or other experience, that account is identified in the article. Research-based guidance should not be read as a claim that we personally tested every service or visited every place.
- Images: Articles may use original photographs and AI-generated illustrations. AI-generated images serve as illustrations; they are not evidence of an actual visit, product test or event.
- Editorial tools: We use AI to assist research, drafting and illustration, followed by a separate review of sources, wording, images and page presentation under our current production process.
