Yuzu shio ramen; cashless only; closes early if soup sells out

Suggested Half-day Course

A suggested 10:30–15:30 walk for a usual Wednesday–Sunday. Times allow a museum visit, a free self-guided brewery visit and one main meal; they are planning estimates, not a measured route or reservations. Check holiday closures and current notices first. Choose either Nakayoshi or Tofu Shokudo for lunch; the latter has a 14:00 lunch last order. Add time for queues or a paid tour.

  1. Photography first

Choose one exhibition at TOP Museum; allow around 60–75 minutes, adjusting for your interest. Check its ticket and opening calendar before you set out.

    Source 1
  2. Cross the Garden Place plazas

Walk between the museum and brewery using the site map. Take a brief outdoor pause; the time is a flexible estimate.

    Source 1
  3. A self-guided beer-history visit

Use the free history area for about 20–30 minutes. A tasting or booked tour needs more time; the walk can continue without drinking alcohol.

    Source 1
  4. Look over Tokyo from the 38th floor

Follow signs for the TOP of YEBISU elevators. Allow around 20 minutes for the free lounge and extra time if the lift is busy.

  5. Walk back towards the station

Return via the Skywalk towards the station-side streets. Use the exact Nakayoshi shop map for lunch, rather than following a generic East Exit pin back to the elevated gate.

    Source 1 · Source 2
  6. Choose your lunch

Sit down for a current set meal at Nakayoshi. Tofu Shokudo is an alternative only if you arrive before its 14:00 lunch last order; a queue can change that plan.

  7. A short shrine detour

Pause quietly at Ebisu Shrine if the grounds are accessible. Keep the surrounding roads clear, then continue towards your coffee stop.

    Source 1
  8. Coffee, with an optional sweet

Finish at Sarutahiko’s original shop. Hiiragi is a separate small takeaway option if open; aim to end around 15:30 rather than adding another full meal.

Getting Here & Area Map

Use JR Ebisu’s elevated East Exit for Garden Place and follow the Ebisu Skywalk signs; the complex gives a five-minute approach. The museum’s own access estimate is seven minutes. JR’s West Exit serves the station-side food streets; many shops sit on the east side of the railway near this ground-level gate, so use each exact map pin. From the Hibiya Line, the ordinary Exit 1 route towards Garden Place uses an escalator. For lifts and step-free access, use the operator’s destination-specific barrier-free instructions.

Before You Go

Which day works for the museum and brewery?

The photography museum normally closes on Monday, opening on a Monday holiday and closing the next weekday. The brewery normally closes on Tuesday, or the following day when Tuesday is a holiday. Wednesday–Sunday is a useful starting point, with exceptions for holidays, year-end closures and special notices. If one is closed, use the skyline, streets and food stops instead of assuming the other is also shut.

Source 1 · Source 2
How do the free brewery visit and paid tour differ?

The free area is self-guided, with an operator estimate of about 20 minutes. The regular YEBISU the JOURNEY is about 45 minutes, costs ¥2,000 for adults, requires online booking and card prepayment, and is guided in Japanese. It views some equipment through glass rather than taking you through a factory. The optional paid audio guide includes English and Korean versions. Check the current booking page for your chosen experience.

Source 1 · Source 2
Booking from outside Japan?

Sapporo’s FAQ states that YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO tour reservations open at 13:00 Japan time three weeks before the desired visit date. Recheck the current tour calendar and release rule before booking. RJG’s Japan Time Converter, linked under Read Next, can convert the Japan time after you enter the release date. It does not calculate the three-week date or check seats for you.

Source 1
What opening details should I check now?

Brewery self-guided entry normally closes at 19:30 on weekdays and 18:30 on weekends and holidays, 30 minutes before the building closes. A notice checked on October 21, 2026 announces closure on November 19 and changed hours on November 18, 20 and 21. At the photography museum, last admission is also 30 minutes before closing, and exhibition prices vary. Open the linked official notices for your date.

Source 1 · Source 2 · Source 3
Do I need cash or special dietary planning?

The brewery does not accept cash, and AFURI Ebisu is also cashless. Carry another way to pay and check small shops individually. The ramen’s clear broth contains animal ingredients, and tofu dishes can use meat or animal-based stock. Tell staff about allergies or dietary needs before ordering; this guide does not verify a halal, vegan or allergen-free meal.

Source 1 · Source 2 · Source 3 · Source 4 · Source 5
Can I follow this walk in rain or with a stroller?

The Skywalk provides a covered approach, but the plazas and station-side streets include outdoor sections. Use the museum and brewery as indoor anchors when open. For a stroller or wheelchair, follow the official lift route to the exact building, not a general station-exit description. A covered walkway alone does not establish an entirely step-free route.

Source 1 · Source 2 · Source 3
How should I choose among the six food stops?

Pick one main meal: ramen at AFURI, a rice set at Nakayoshi or a tofu lunch. Then add coffee or a taiyaki if you want a break. Uomaru is an optional evening choice; it is not part of the timed daytime course. Menus change, and the images are conceptual illustrations rather than records of what a shop will serve.
